After last night’s rather disappointing defeat at home to Ostersunds (wait, what?) we were drawn against AC Milan in the next round of Europe’s Premier Cup competition, the Europa League.
We lost 2-1 at home but won the overall tie 4-2 after our 3-0 win in Sweden in the home leg, but made hard work of what should have been a routine European cup tie. Wenger clearly had one eye on the League Cup final this weekend with Man City and played a makeshift team which just about bumbled it’s way through to the last 16.
The two games against Milan will take place in March, the first at the San Siro on the 8th of March, and the second leg back at The Emirates on the 15th of March, both Thursdays, naturally.
The away leg will kick off at 6pm UK time and the home game, as last night, at 20:05.
The winners will make it to the quarter finals, and the rest of the last 16 draw looks like this:
Lazio (ITA) v Dynamo Kyiv (UKR)
Leipzig (GER) v Zenit (RUS)
Atlético Madrid (ESP) v Lokomotiv Moskva (RUS)
CSKA Moskva (RUS) v Lyon (FRA)
Marseille (FRA) v Athletic Club (ESP)
Sporting CP (POR) v Plzeň (CZE)
Dortmund (GER) v Salzburg (AUT)
AC Milan (ITA) v Arsenal (ENG)
