As weekends go, as an Arsenal fan, this one will live on long in the memory as a very bad one.
Not only is at least one of our best players off, but we also lost a very winnable game away on the South coast, despite, like West Brom away, leading in the game. The game was fairly even, and very uneventful until Hector Bellerin put us in the lead latching on to an exceptional long, defence splitting pass from Jack Wilshere, try this for a unibet promo code 2018, worth a go.
Then we just seemed to switch off, like West Brom, we thought the game was won and dropped concentration levels and paid the price. Cech failed to get a cross field pass and it was turned in, and then after some pretty terrible defending and non-existent tracking by Granit Xhaka, Bournemouth were ahead.
With Giroud, Ozil and Sanchez all out, we were left with a pretty ineffectual bench, Theo Walcott and Aaron Ramsey came on to try and get something out of the game, but once again, like in recent weeks, no one wanted it enough and we came away with nothing. It sounds like Theo is done at Arsenal, Sam Allardyce claiming he should sign this week as a 20m Everton player.
Elsewhere in the Premier League, Chelsea and Man City both dropped points, not that we could dream of catching them at the minute anyway, but Spurs and Liverpool both won, while Manchester United play managerless Stoke at home tonight. One final positive from the weekend was the end of Man City’s bid to become the #Invincibles Mark II, Liverpool beating them at Anfield in an amazing game 4-3.
Off the field, Ozil was left out of the Bournemouth debacle with a supposed ‘knee problem’, while Alexis, who seems to be Manchester bound was left out as Arsene Wenger claimed he was trying to sort his future out and admitted that his head’s gone. Going to be a very busy transfer window for everyone by the looks of things.
Let’s hope the rest of him follows suit pretty soon so we can get our mess of a squad sorted out and get back to winning ways. The usual January nonsense talk of some huge names being bandied about, but as is the norm, they are just rumours at this point, try not to get sucked in!
