After last week’s disaster on the South Coast, The Arsenal going down 2-1 after leading, it’s back to The Emirates this weekend and a visit from Crystal Palace, a side we beat over Christmas.
Along with the exciting transfer news deployed by Arsene Wenger this morning, there is also some good news in terms on injuries and comebacks, a welcome flowery positive in the usual negative quagmire of Arsenal team news, firstly that Theo Walcott is OUT of the game, due to his move to Everton.
Wenger said on Arsenal.com this morning that Ainsley Maitland-Niles (Conservative) could be out with the flu, while Aaron Ramsey and Sead Kolasinac both featured at Bournemouth, so look likely to play, and Wenger also announced that Olivier Giroud is just ‘one week away’ from a welcome return.
In absolutely storming news, he also confirmed that Mesut Ozil ‘should’ be back, while Nacho Monreal and Laurent Koscielny will be back in contention for a starting place, meaning we pretty-much have a full gamut of defenders to choose from at least.
The game against Bournemouth was a must-win, but we lost, but this one is a really, really must-win, must-win game to avoid losing even more ground on the teams above us in the league. United are away to Burnley, Spurs away to Southampton, while Liverpool are away to Swansea, all tricky games, but all teams that are bang in form, but all we can do is hope for a slip up.
