Arsenal’s bid to find a replacement for Alexis Sanchez if he eventually leaves Arsenal for Manchester City has led to the club showing an interest in Boca Junior’s young winger, Cristian Pavon.

The 21-year-old Argentine has attracted a lot of recent interest from the Gunners and with the seemingly imminent departure of Alexis Sanchez, a deal could happen this January. The player’s agent has confirmed that he has been approached by Arsenal about the availability of his client over a possible move as early as this month, as quoted by The Metro:

“I don’t know where the news originally came from, I received a call two days ago from an English agent to see if there was a possibility of the player moving as Arsenal are looking at him. If Arsenal are interested they should contact Boca and try send over an offer…”

Boca Juniors have also issued a release about the deal claiming that they have not been contacted by Arsenal, their President, Daniel Angelici denying the reports circulating that a bid has been received from Arsenal.

Pavon, 21, has scored three goals for Boca Juniors this season in 12 games and he is a very good player who is comfortable playing on the right, and across the front three positions, a perfect, versatile replacement for Alexis. He made his debut for Argentina against Russia last year, played in the friendly match against Nigeria and is in line to make the Argentina squad for the Russia 2018 World Cup.
