Arsene Wenger has confirmed that there has been no ultimatum given to Alexis Sanchez or Mesut Ozil as the club continue to allow their current deals to run down.

He claims via Goal.com that talks are underway, but can’t offer much more information and is trying to keep things discreet:

“The conversations are, as always, going on with everybody. Our door is always open. I cannot tell you much more, I have said many times we want to keep them and, at the moment, that’s all we can say. The best way to deal with these kind of things is to keep it as discreet as possible.”

Ozil has been in fine form recently, while Alexis Sanchez has looked a little lacklustre and not as sharp or committed as we have come to expect from the Chilean wizard, giving the ball away over 30 times in our last two games where we have dropped five points.

The Daily Mirror however, have said that Arsenal have launched a fresh bid to keep Ozil at The Emirates, with a new £275,000-a-week deal which would make the German the highest ever earner at the club.

It remains to be seen whether the players will be allowed to leave in January or whether Wenger remains true to his word and keeps hold of them until at least the end of the season.

On the pitch, we visit West Ham’s Olympic Stadium in another tricky tie, The Hammers beating Chelsea last time out, while we will be hoping to get back to winning ways after our home defeat to Manchester United and a disappointing 1-1 draw at Southampton.
