Looks like January must be just around the corner, with the news that ‘Arsenal target’ Steven N’zonzi was in London today for transfer talks, only for the player’s club to deny this was the case and announce that he was just visiting his son.

Initial reports first thing today claimed that the out-of-favour ex-Stoke and Blackburn midfielder was in London for transfer talks with a view to a January transfer, which naturally got the new breed of Arsenal fans in a Twitter spin.

However, as the day wore on, the truth came out, and the Sevilla Chairman announced that the player was allowed to travel to the UK to visit his son, who lives here.

Jose Castro said in the Daily Mail that:

“His situation is due to a technical issue with the coaches and as with all the technical issues, he can change it. He travelled to London to visit his son with our permission…”

Silly season is well and truly under way and this December and January are going to be horrific, especially given the Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil situations, and although N’Zonzi is though to be looking for a new club, this was the usual 2 + 2 = 5 by the media.
