Olivier Giroud has said that we need to keep Mesut Ozil at Arsenal at all costs.
Speaking after Ozil’s masterclass during our 5-0 win over Huddersfield Town, where the German created two assists and scored once, Giroud admitted what a valuable player Ozil is and that he is totally committed to the club.
Ozil could be leaving Arsenal as early as January as agreement can’t seem to be reached between him and the club, but performances like last night, make everyone realise that this should not be allowed to happen.
When asked about Ozil, Giroud said via ITV Sport:
“He is a top player and we need him. He makes the best choice most of the time. He knows when he has to pass the ball or to shoot and when you are in a good position you always think he thinks assist before scoring, even if he scored tonight. I am very happy for him. He is our playmaker and is a key player…”
Giroud replaced Alexandre Lacazette at half-time on Wednesday night, grabbing two second half goals to add to Lacazette’s early strike and Ozil and Sanchez’s goals. It’s now thought that Lacazette and possibly Alexis Sanchez may miss the Manchester United game this weekend.
