Arsenal might have been given a boost in their pursuit in landing Carlo Ancelotti as the replacement when Arsene Wenger finally leaves.

The former Chelsea and Real Madrid coach turn down the offer to manage the Italian national team according to a report in The Sun, this is according to his agent who claims he rejected a phone call offer from the Italian Federation.

This has increased speculation linking him to the Arsenal job, Ancelotti has initially said that he will be taking a rest until the end of the season before taking any new job, this could even be to let Wenger decide on seeing out the final year of his contract.

Lots of changes have been going on at Arsenal in the background and nothing is certain now with Wenger despite him signing a two year contract last summer.

It is yet to be seen if Arsenal are willing to give the job straight to Ancelotti after the circumstances that made him to be sacked at Bayern Munich.

However, the 55 year old Italian has the experience to handle the level required at Arsenal after being in charge at Chelsea in the past.

Arsenal will not be the only club going in for Ancelotti when he’s ready to take a job as clubs like Chelsea and AC Milan are all in line to try to get their former coach back.
