Mesut Ozil seems to be the latest Arsenal player to be on the wanted list at Barcelona with reports across Spain saying that he has been given ‘direct permission’ by Arsenal to speak with Barcelona.

Mundo Deportivo is reporting via Football.London that the German has been in talks with Barcelona for a deal worth over £20m due to the fact that Ozil’s agent, Dr Erkut Sogut, has a good relationship with Barcelona.

The link between Ozil and Barcelona has continue to grow in recent weeks with some claiming that the Catalan club put Ozil ahead of Liverpool’s Coutinho.

Ozil’s agent has earlier stated that his client will stay in the Premier League for the next two to three years and also reiterated that contract talks with Arsenal are going on positively, so if the link to Barca is true, then the agent will be going back on his words – non-surprisingly. His agent is said to be pushing for a two and a half year deal with Barcelona.

It all seems to be pointing to the fact that Ozil is enjoying life in England but this is football and anything can happen especially where money is concerned. Such a shame that it has come to this, especially given it seems all the club has to do is pay him what he wants and he’ll seemingly stay at Arsenal, same goes for his team mate Alexis Sanchez – just pay them what they want and give them free reign of Akers Office and The Armoury.

The German international’s performances have been nothing short of brilliant since his arrival to the Emirates Stadium, netting 24 goals in 124 appearances for the North London outfit and breaking all manner of assist records, his most recent one, setting up our opening goal against Tottenham on Saturday with a pinpoint free kick.
