Arsenal’s Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey has been declared fit for the North London derby against Tottenham by his national team coach, Chris Coleman.

The midfielder played 90 minutes in Wales’ defeat to France in Paris on Friday and sat out of their second friendly with Panama.

Ramsey has now returned to Arsenal as his club and country had agreed prior to the international break that he would only play one of the two friendlies and as a result, he is now available for the crunch derby on Saturday.

“Coming into the camp we knew we were only going to have him for France. No matter how he felt afterwards we decided it would be one game for Aaron Ramsey…”

Coleman said, as quoted by Evening Standard and added:

“I think coming into the camp because of what’s been happening with him at Arsenal in terms of his fitness we thought one game would be better than two. That was the thinking; he’s gone back to Arsenal. He will be available for them at the weekend…”

This is positive news for Arsene Wenger as he has one less worry going into the match especially as Olivier Giroud had earlier returned from France’s training camp after an injury up scare. Arsenal are 12 points off of Manchester City going into the game which is now a must win for the Gunners to avoid losing yet more ground on the pace setters.
