It seems Arsenal are not going to have it all their own way in any move to get their former player back from Besiktas.
Oguzhan Ozyakup has been linked with a possible return to Arsenal but now Inter and AC Milan are now both said to be interested in signing the player. The club’s Sporting Director confirmed that the Milan clubs’ are interested in Ozyakup who is expected to cost around £10million and the North London will face stiff competition from the Italian clubs according to the reports.
Besiktas’ Sporting Director, Ali Naibi told Calciomercato:
“I know of Inter’s interest and Milan for Ozyakup, but we never received an official offer or a request from them. For us it is very important, it’s our captain and we want you to stay with us because we want to bet on the title…”
Ozyakup left Arsenal in 2012 for just £400,000 and has made a name for himself while playing in Turkey and the 25-year-old midfielder is said to have a playing style similar to that of Mesut Ozil. This has alerted Arsene Wenger who could use the player as a direct replacement for Ozil and could cost Arsenal as little as £10 million.
Ozyakup has been an integral member of the Besiktas title winning squad in the last two seasons, he’s hoping to help them win it again this season and they are currently sitting on top of the Turkish Super League.
Arsenal will have to act fast if they really want to get him ahead of the Milan teams as he has just 12 months on his current deal at Besiktas but a move back to The Emirates could tempt the player if the two clubs could agree a deal.
