Manchester City are said to be upping their game in their pursuit of Alexis Sanchez according to the Manchester Evening News.

They claim that Guardiola sees Sanchez as someone who can fire up the competition for places at The Etihad and wants him to play alongside Sergio Aguero, Gabriel Jesus and their 90 other world class strikers.

Sergio Aguero, scorer of City’s dodgy penalty during our defeat on Sunday, has said that he plans to return to his Argentinian side Independiente when his contract runs out prompting further rumours City are intending to push through the move for our favourite Chilean sulker; Alexis.

Aguero who has won as many top flight league titles as Tottenham in less than 5 years, said:

“The idea was always to go back to Independiente when my contract ends at City. I have an option to extend one more year with City where it’s the priority, but it’s always an option…”

A move for Sanchez fell through in the summer as City chose to bid for him at ten to midnight on deadline day. Then somewhat surprisingly there wasn’t time for us to get a replacement, despite our best efforts in the 9 minutes which remained to try and sign Thomas Lemar from Monaco.
