They don’t come much bigger than this, Manchester City away in the Premier League, a side who have dropped just two points and remain unbeaten in 10 games since the start of the season 10/38ths of the way towards an Invincible season.
We go to Manchester having already been mauled by Liverpool and beaten by Stoke and Watford on the road, but at least we are in a decent run of form, back to back league wins, Everton away and Swansea at home. I personally love the games where we are not given a prayer by anyone as we more often than not end up getting something from the game, fingers crossed.
Following our second string XI’s draw last night in the Europa League, it looks as though Mustafi will remain sidelined meaning Per Mertesacker will play at the back, nothing to worry about there of course, remember the cup final? There are still doubts over back up keeper David Ospina and Calum Chambers and also our Bosnian tank Sead Kolasinac could yet miss the game. Long term absentees remain Santi Cazorla and Danny Welbeck.
The game kicks off at 2:15pm and will be live on Sky Sports Main Event. A win could see us leapfrog Spurs and Chelsea should results not go their way and a defeat could open up a worrying gap between us and the top four, with Liverpool also snapping at our heels – league table here.
Spurs play Palace at home/Wembley without Alderweireld and Hugo Lloris (who could apparently miss the NLD in two weeks time!) and Chelsea play Manchester United at Stamford Bridge after our game, so one thing is for sure, we’re in for a proper Super Sunday (after the Spur game that is).
