Football.London are reporting that Arsene Wenger has revealed that contract talks will begin with Jack Wilshere next month.

The England international’s current contract at the Emirates Stadium will expire at the end of the season and Wilshere is working on his fitness trying to force his way into Wenger’s first team plans.

Wenger confirmed on Monday morning that the 25-year-old midfielder is now ‘super fit’ and he has been treated like any other player for the past three weeks. Wilshere has started three different games this season and he is likely to make it four tonight in the match against Fk Crvena Zvezda in the Europa League.

Wenger said:

“I wanted to give him six months not to think about it and then see where we go, I said many times that will be decided in December…”

His performances of late have been nothing short of brilliant since he returned from injury and he can always come in for either Aaron Ramsey or Granit Xhaka in Wenger’s information. Wenger added:

“I think he can play in the midfield in a 4-2-3-1, or in a 4-3-3, but the system we play I see him as more advanced. It’s always hard to make these kind of decisions, in my head he’s more a little bit higher up. A player who can effect the game in the final third, more than a box to box player…”

“I see him more as someone who has a quick response, quick reactions and a quality pass in the final third. Jack has a quality that is very difficult to get. He can dribble and he can as well give the final ball. You do not get that a lot…”

“For me he is an a position between wide and completely central because he can turn the game forward, chip a little ball, go past people in a short space, so that’s why the system suits him well…”
