As the season progresses we are still without three key players, Santi Cazorla, Shkodran Mustafi and Danny Welbeck, here’s a piece about how they are doing:

Santi Cazorla:

Our little Spanish magician has not played football since last year October when he sustained an Achilles injury during our win against Ludogorets in the Champions League meaning he’s had to endure several operations. The Spanish international has been fighting to return but Arsene Wenger has stated that he will not be back until after Christmas at the earliest.

“The first signs are positive, but still he has not played for one and a half years. He is not in full training yet, he needs a few games with the reserve team. So I think if all goes well, it will be after Christmas…”

Danny Welbeck:

After returning from injury he sustained sustained against Chelsea in the league, he limped off again in the game with Watford with a groin injury. Wenger has stated that the Englishman will return after the next international break:

“Welbeck has a groin problem; I think it will be two to three weeks before he is back. He will not be back before the international break…”

Barcelona in for Lemar?

Shkodran Mustafi

Like Welbeck, it’s thought that Mustafi will also be back after international break possibly the Spurs game. He sustained a groin injury while on duty with Germany.

David Ospina and Calum Chambers are expected to be back in the squad for the Europa league match on Thursday at Emirates against Red Star Belgrade, Chambers definitely back to full training and last week Wenger hinted at Ospina being ready for Thursday but it’s yet to be confirmed.

Arsene Wenger is also optimistic that Kolasinac should be back for the City game, the Bosnian limped off during our win against Swansea last weekend claim The Evening Standard but he’s not in the squad for Thursday.
