After the failed transfer to Man City this summer of Alexis Sanchez, Pep Guardiola still wants to land the Arsenal man, but Man City are only prepared to offer £20m in January.

Arsenal value Sanchez at £30m according to The Sun, and things have stalled and are unlikely to go ahead meaning the Chilean could leave for nothing next summer if City don’t tie him down in a pre-contract deal in January. City already failed with a £60m bid last summer, a deal which fell apart due to the lateness of the bid and our own failings to sign Thomas Lemar from Monaco.

Sanchez looks to be returning to form as demonstrated in Sunday’s emphatic away win at Everton, but behind the scenes he cuts a sad figure away from the pitch.

He keeps posting sad face photos of himself with cryptic messages about his sad eyes etc which makes it look like he’s some kind of prisoner at The Emirates (being paid £150,000 a week btw).

The Sun’s ‘source’ (from Manchester of course) is said to have said:

“Arsenal are not blinking yet on Alexis. We will only pay £20m for him in January, Arsenal are still sending the message that they want over £30m. Something has to give either way. Sanchez still wants the move from what we understand. We feel we have some leverage right now…”

This news comes despite yesterday’s announcement that Stan Kroenke wants to keep Sanchez at Arsenal.
