With the current contract situation ongoing at Arsenal, our majority shareholder, Stan Kroenke believes that Arsenal star players, Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez could still stay at the Emirates beyond this season despite having less than a year left in their contract. The club has been unable to get both players to sign a contract extension so far which has brought about suggestions that they could leave this January for small fees, or next summer for nothing.

Arsene Wenger commented recently that they could be sold in January window has also fuelled the rumours about the duo’s possible departure and currently it almost seems inevitable we will lose our two prized assets.

However, the man in the wig, Stan Kroenke does not see things that way and believes that Arsenal have the potential to keep them both and attract the best players from across Europe.

In an exclusive interview with the The Mirror Kroenke said:

“We want to attract top players, keep top players. Those guys (Sanchez and Ozil) are top players. I watched them on Sunday (in the 5-2 win at Everton) and they looked really good in black with the red trim (eh?).  They looked really good and they played really well and we’d love to keep them. It takes two to dance, we’ll keep working to keep our top talent and to attract more talent but some of the guys we’ve got are looking pretty (pretty) good…”

Pep Guardiola is keen on adding Alexis Sanchez to his squad, and a deal almost happened on last day of the transfer market but collapsed at the last minute when the deal to bring Monaco’s Thomas Lemar to Arsenal fell through.

German midfield maestro Mesut Ozil has been attracting the attention of the likes of Manchester United and it’s thought that he could join the Red Devils next summer when he’s free to leave also joining up with his old boss and his magic chequebook, Jose Mourinho.
