With the recent news that Marc Overmars could be returning to Arsenal in the role of Sporting Director, there are now reports coming out of Spain that he could well be bringing some big name players with him.

Overmars and the club both recently denied that the Dutchman would be returning to Arsenal for now, but rumours seem to be growing stronger that Overmars will be linking up with Wenger at the club once more.

Reports from Mundo Deportivo are now saying that Overmars could also bring with him very promising youngsters Matthijs de Ligt and Kasper Dolberg to Arsenal. Both are said to be realistic targets for both Liverpool and Barcelona with rumours that Barcelona are so serious about landing Dolberg that they could sign him in January and loan him back to Ajax just to keep him away from Arsenal, should Overmars and Arsenal find an agreement.

Best Overmars goal?

Raül Sanllehí has also been linked this week to a move to Arsenal in the same role as he performed at Barcelona in charge of transfers and negotiations in place of Dick Law and it’s thought that Overmars is being touted as Wenger’s right hand man for next season.

Not sure how much truth there are in these rumours, but if true, its great news we’re looking to create a strong backroom team for next season, possibly Wenger’s last season in charge next year.
