Ian Wright has joined many other ex-players and pundits to voice their opinion on Arsenal’s record signing, Alexandre Lacazette.

The Arsenal legend stated concern about how the French striker plays more to help his team mates, the former striker believes that the prolific goalscorer needs to start being more selfish.

Lacazette scored Arsenal’s third goal in their 5-2 thrashing of Everton at Goodison Park to take his season tally to 5 goals in just 9 league appearances which is a pretty decent start to his life in the Premier League.

Wright has been delighted with the Frenchman’s performance so far and had the following to say via The Daily Star:

“I love Lacazette, he’s a fantastic singing. When he gets into this situation [in the penalty area], he finishes so so well. This came before he raised his concern about what he thinks he should improve on. I don’t want to see him come and getting involved in the link up play because we have enough players that can do that. I would love to see him on the edge of defenders, and running into those little slots, stretching teams…”

Our new number 9 has been the manager’s favourite so far in the league starting eight of Arsenal’s nine games, this has pushed Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott down the pecking order.

However Giroud has made good use of his opportunities so far this season scoring the winner on the opening day of the season and the winner away in Belgrade last Thursday in Arsenal’s Europa League game with his incredible overhead kick.
