Winter is coming, and the January transfer window draws ever closer. The rumor mills are in full flow and a key player is constantly being linked with a move away from The Emirates, Mesut Ozil being the latest to be featured in today’s papers.
Arsenal are looking at possible ways to make a profit from the sales of their star player as he is showing no sign of extending his contract right now and we are apparently now looking to sell for a fee of around £20m (less than half a Kyle Walker) according to report from Sky Sports.
They have told likely suitors, rumoured to be Milan and Manchester United that Mesut Ozil will be available for the cut price figure if the German playmaker fails to sign a new deal before January.
With less than nine months to run on his contract, Arsenal are desperate to keep Ozil, but he has already refused a new deal and with a contract not yet signed, the possibility of him leaving is increasingly likely and the back page of the Daily Mirror today claims that Ozil has already told his team-mates that he’s leaving.
With Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United watching the situation closely, the Gunners have to make a decision on his situation very soon but it looks like both him and Alexis Sanchez will not be lining up in red and white next season.
Arsene Wenger admitted last week that there is a possibility that Ozil leaves the club come January, but the transfer market still has over two months before opening and anything can happen in that time. What we do know however is that it’s going to be an absolute shambles by the club to let Ozil and Sanchez leave for the paltry amounts being bandied about at the moment and two clubs are going to be laughing all the way to the bank getting our world class superstars for such small amounts.
We are rapidly turning into an absolute joke of a club in a real mess.
