As we start planning for the inevitable; life without Alexis Sanchez, Arsenal are lining up a move for AC Milan Andre Silva, according to reports from The Sun this week.
We are said to be hoping to tempt the Portuguese attacker away from the San Siro and hoping that they don’t qualify for the Champions league as this could mean selling some of their big names to recoup the losses.
The Italian giants beat us to Silva summer when they paid £33m for his signature but we could still end up with the player at The Emirates if Milan carry on their downward spiral.
Silva has not scored a goal yet in the Serie A this season mainly due to how poor Vincenzo Montella’s team have been as they have lost half of their league games already so far (sounds familiar) including the dramatic 3-2 defeat in the derby last weekend which was won by a converted last minute penalty from Inter.
Arsenal are expected to cash-in on Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil come January and will be going all out to replace them, meaning that 21-year-old Silva could well have the opportunity to play in England if these rumours are true.
All eyes for us now turn to Serbia this evening and our next Europa League outing against Red Star Belgrade – team news later.
