Legend and former Arsenal defender Martin Keown believes the club is in need of more players that are physically imposing on the field. Players in the mould of Sead Kolasinac should be more of the ilk of what the club should be getting, highlighted by our dismal, lightweight performance at Watford last weekend. We desperately need to turn things around at struggling Everton this weekend, all the latest odds on that here at 10Bet.

With all of our injury problems, we do now suddenly seem too soft and weak again, Keown said in The Daily Mail:

“Going forward, Wenger needs to recruit a different type of player who is prepared to graft and scrap. Of course we want to see players who are great athletes and extremely skillful but Wenger needs more players in the mould of Sead Kolasinac — men who are solid, determined and direct. Right now, this Arsenal team looks a million miles away from becoming champions…”

Keown has been very negative in terms of Arsenal recently, and understandably so after such a poor start. In fairness, the Arsenal team as a whole were not at their best against the Hornets on Saturday and we looked beaten after their controversial penalty went in despite us leading at half time. This is already our third loss in the league and we have still not won away from home, picking up just a point against Chelsea and losing the other three with toothless performances at all three (Stoke A, Liverpool A and Watford A).

The likes of Welbeck, Xhaka and Elneny who had come back into the squad had little impact last weekend in making the team more combative and Wenger and the club board need to find a lasting solution to the problem as soon as possible if we are going to turn this season around and mount an unlikely challenge for the Premier League.
