As the January transfer window draws nearer (what joy) more information about the future of Arsenal star man, Mesut Ozil is being revealed.

The club have finally decided to keep him until the summer as there have been no concrete offers for him according to a report in The Daily Star.

They also report that keeping Ozil might mean the club will allow Sanchez to leave in January as they want to keep at least one of the two until the end of the season.

Both Sanchez and Ozil will be free to speak to any club outside of England in January and leave at the end of the season as they are currently on the last year of their contracts. However Arsenal are thought to be still trying to negotiate deals to keep them at the club.

Arsenal were close to losing Sanchez to Manchester City on the last day of the summer transfer window but a deal to sign a replacement in the form of Monaco’s Thomas Lemar could not be finalised meaning both deals fell apart.

It remains to be seen if City are going to come back in for Sanchez in January or whether they’ll wait until summer when the player will be available for nothing. With the amount of goals they are scoring they might even decide not to expand their squad at all.

We are in disarray at the moment, losing again this weekend to Watford on Saturday meaning both players probably would be thinking twice about signing an extension anyway.

Ozil has been brilliant since his arrival at the Emirates Stadium in the 2013 summer window and he scored a total of 23 league goals in all appearances, which is not bad for a midfielder but Ozil really need to find his confidence if we are going to see the best of him this season.
