Arsenal have been told they will need to pay the buyout clause to land PSV’s Mexican winger, Hirving Lozano or forget getting the player to come to The Emirates Stadium in the January window. The amount is understood to be in the region of £30m, according to a report from The Mirror.

PSV sees the player as a huge asset and won’t allow him go cheaply, Lozana only joined PSV last summer but has made a very good start to life in Holland.

After the Mexican international joined from Pachuca, he scored six goals in his opening six matches and holds the record for being the first player to score for PSV in his first three league games for the club.

Arsenal scouts have been watching the 22-year-old for a while and Chief Scout, Steve Rowley has recommended buying him to the Arsenal board for a fee of around £20m but it looks like PSV are prepared to play hardball to get what they think he’s worth for the player.

He is touted as being a replacement for Alexis Sanchez despite Thomas Lemar being our first choice but Monaco could hold us to ransom on the price for Lemar now they know we are looking to replace everyone’s favourite Chilean after our failed bid on the last day of the last window.

Watford 2-1 Arsenal. As You Were.

If a price can be agreed with PSV, the only issue with Lozano will be if he such a young player can cope with the responsibility of replacing a player as important as Alexis Sanchez at Arsenal.
