Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger believes his German midfielder; Mesut Ozil is willing to be part of Arsenal beyond this season and says that discussions about his future are going well.

Ozil has less than twelve months left on his contract which means that he has the right to speak to another club from January and will leave next summer for free if a new deal is not agreed before then.

However, Arsenal boss Wenger says the former Real Madrid star is still one of the best players in the world and he wants to stay at the Emirates. He said as quoted by Sky Sports

“I cannot tell you what is in his mind. I genuinely think he wants to stay, but I am always positive about that. We live in the world where people have opinions and sometimes they are right and sometimes they are not always proven right on the longer period…”

Despite a lot of criticism the midfielder has faced this season, he has provided 23 goals and 41 assists in 121 Premier League appearances for the north London side.

The World Cup winner joined Arsenal in 2013 for a record fee of £42.5m and has won three FA cups with the Gunners also earned a shortlist nomination for the PFA player of the year for his outstanding performance in the 2015/16 season.

More will be known in the next couple of weeks if Ozil wants to stay or leave come the end of the season but things are sounding more positive.
