As the clock counts down to the very probable departure of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal, the club seem to be already eyeing replacements for him in all leagues across Europe. The search has moved to Holland, with PSV Eindhoven and the club are said to be looking at Mexican winger Hirving Lozano.
According to Bleacher Report Chief scout Steve Rowley has already been to watch Lozano in action and the 22 year old winger could be available for as little as £20 million in January.
Lozano moved to Eredivisie outfit PSV in June and signed a six-year contract before going on a prolific scoring run at his new club scoring six in six games this season. The player has been linked with both Manchester clubs already this season by various media outlets.
He has had a very good start to life in the Eredivisie and is said to be being monitored by many clubs around the world, and means that Wenger has to act fast if he intends to get the player before he’s out priced out of the deal by the richer clubs with more money at their disposal.
Lozano is currently injured having dislocated an elbow (ouch!) on international duty with Mexico and will return to PSV for treatment, the Mexicans having already qualified for Russia 2018.
If Sanchez leaves and Wenger somehow pulls off the Lozano purchase, this should go some way to making up for losing Sanchez, and all the frustration over the last few months with lack of reinvestment of the Oxlade-Chamberlain money.
On the pitch, Arsenal will be visiting Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday evening, so let’s hope the team returns with all three points and other results go our way so we can continue climbing up the table after what can only be described as a slow start to our league season.
