Good news came from Mesut Ozil’s camp in regards to his contract extension when the German midfielder’s agent, Dr Erkut Sogut suggested his client is looking to stay in England for 3 more seasons.

With less than a year left on his contract, speculation continues over his future with reports linking him to a host of top clubs in Europe including Manchester United and Barcelona.

With his agent now hinting that talks are going well with Arsenal, Ozil might be getting a new contract at the Emirates, the 28-year-old World Cup winner’s agent said:

“Ozil wants to play another two to three years in the Premier League,” he said. “Our contacts with Arsenal continue and are going in a positive way…”

However, a section of the fans have seen this statement as being ambiguous as it might also mean that a move to another Premier League club is still on the cards with Man United looking like a possible destination.

Arsenal signed Ozil from Real Madrid in 2013 for a record fee and he has made a massive impact with the club, winning the FA cup in his first season at the club.
