Birmingham manager Steve Cotterill has broken Birmingham fans hearts with the news that Carl Jenkinson is not close to a return despite some recent speculation to the contrary.
25 year old Jenkinson dislocated his shoulder after just half an hour of his debut for Birmingham against Reading way back in August and hasn’t played since.
Tactical genius Harry Redknapp (according to Paul Merson at least) and then manager of Birmingham said that Jenkinson was ‘a triffic lad’ who he nearly signed for Spurs and would be back in ‘a cupplamummfs’, but this sadly wasn’t the case.
Cotterill told the Birmingham Mail that he is almost ‘back on the radar’:
“Normally when you pop a shoulder it’s quite serious for a long time. I can safely say he is not going to turn up on the team sheet don’t worry about that…”
Jenkinson joined Birmingham on loan in the summer, along with team mate Cohen Bramall after spending some time on loan with West Ham, and as a lifelong Arsenal fan, we’d like to wish Jenks all the best for his recovery.
Get well soon Corporal!
