Arsenal are expected to be busy in the transfer market to make additions to prepare for life after Alexis Sanchez, and potentially Mesut Ozil. Jack Wilshere is also hinting he could move away from The Emirates so Wenger needs to move quickly to ensure we aren’t caught out and left short (again).
According to some of the latest rumours, its thought that we could be in the market for a sensational swoop to land the Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema in next transfer window.
With the Gunners seemingly in limbo over the futures of many of our star players, the signing of a recognised striker with bags of experience would be a great move for the club. Benzema fits the bill and could follow fellow countryman Alexandre Lacazette across the channel to join up with Wenger, Koscielny and Oli G.
Despite the 30-year-old’s recent contract extension, Real Madrid continue to be linked with move for Tottenham striker, Harry Kane which means that nothing is certain about Benzema’s future at the Benarbeu.
According to Don Balon (whoever he is) Arsenal are confident that Benzema could be a Gunner by next season and the report also sensationally claims that Jose Mourinho has hinted his source has told him that Benzema could well be on his way to England soon, and not to United, but to Arsenal.
Not sure on the validity of his claims, and only time will tell if Wenger will at last get a player he has admired for so long but most Arsenal fans would welcome the prolific Frenchman with open arms.
