Mesut Ozil’s agent has broken the internet this afternoon with claims that talks are moving in a positive direction between him and Arsenal.

It was widely believed that Ozil was engineering a move away from The Emirates Stadium this winter with Manchester United the most likely suitors, and a reconciliation with his old manager and general neerdowell Jose Mourinho looking on the cards.

But Arsenal Twitter exploded this afternoon as Ozil’s agent Erkut Sogut has said, via Sports Publication Fanatik that:

“He wants to play in the Premier League for at least two to three more years. Our contact with Arsenal continues and we are moving in a positive direction…”

He also denied any interest from Besiktas:

“Mesut is glad to hear of Besiktas being interested in him, however, no proposal has reached us…”

Ozil has been under fire this season after missing several games with a knee injury and one ex-pro even accusing Ozil of faking the injury.

He’s also missed some media appointments with the club to the disgust of the other players, so this news will be a timely boost ahead of the game away at Watford this weekend whether Ozil is announced fit or not.

There’s still no news on Alexis Sanchez’s situation, but one thing is for sure, he will be coming back to the club in a bad mood after Chile were knocked out of the World Cup qualifying games last night and will take no part in Russia 2018.
