Man of the moment Olivier Giroud has been speaking out about what happened during the last transfer window when he almost left Arsenal. A move to Everton was on the cards when Alexandre Lacazette joined the Gunners which automatically meant limited playing time for Giroud up top for the Arsenal and it seems he almost left but chose to remain at Arsenal in the end luckily for us.
The Arsenal number 12 told French TV station Canal Plus via Sky Sports that he did consider leaving:
“I had the opportunity to leave [Arsenal], I was very close to another English club, Everton, but I think I made the best choice…”
After Lacazette’s arrival and the unstoppable, undroppable Alexis Sanchez playing so well, this meant he went further down the pecking order and now spends most of his Arsenal time on the bench now but the bearded dem-God can still be relied upon when needed as proven time after time.

With Danny Welbeck currently injured, Giroud has played a little more than expected, but this has not deterred the former Montpellier man and he has already impressed this season for both Arsenal and France, notching his 100th Arsenal goal and becoming France’s 7th greatest goalscorer in the past week or two along with being one of the most handsome men on the continent of Europe.
However, if the French man can’t get more game time at The Emirates Stadium, a move come January might not be far away as he fights for a place in the French squad for Russia 2018. The array of talent available at the disposal of the French national team, including Alexandre Lacazette means Giroud is going to have to try and force his way into a first team before the end of the season, what remains to be seen is if it will be Arsenal’s or someone elses.
