Alex Iwobi has been speaking out about the increasingly tense situation at the club regarding the potential exits of both Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil. The players are both currently in the last year of their contract and so far, apart from a few cryptic comments show no sign of staying once their contracts expire next summer.

This has created lot of speculation at the club after we refused to let Sanchez leave on the last day of the transfer window to go to Manchester City and with Ozil now being linked with a move to Manchester United or Inter Milan, it is left to be seen if he will renew his contract as well, but things are not looking good.

Sanchez’s departure will be a blow to the Gunners as the Chilean was the club highest goalscorer in the last season and Ozil, despite a quiet start to the season is another key player we really don’t want to lose, Iwobi said:

“When they are fit they are unstoppable. They are both capable of changing a game – or a season…” Iwobi told The Sun on Sunday. “They have a big decision to make but it would be a huge setback to lose them because from the stats you can see we do need them for their goals and assists…”

The Nigerian feels it’s a big honour to be in the same squad with these two talented footballers. “It will be great for them to stay and I’ve learnt a lot from them. Just the opportunity to even train with them has been amazing. They are two top-class players with great experience having played at the top level…”

In January both players will be available to talk to any club outside of the Premier League about a move come next summer so this story has a lot more twists and turns to come that’s for sure.
