The news about Arsenal’s long time target Rafinha leaving Barcelona has been floating around the news for a while now and it was even reported that during the last transfer window that Arsenal were offered the player but a deal did not materialise.

Barcelona are set to put the Brazilian on the transfer list this coming January, and we have shown interest according to TalkSPORT following reports already linking Mesut Ozil with a move away from The Emirates, so Rafinha could just be the perfect replacement if Ozil fails to sign a new contract at Arsenal.

The 24-year-old Brazilian midfielder has seen his time at Camp Nou blighted with injury problems over the past few seasons so Arsene Wenger would have to think carefully about whether the player would be worth the risk.

With the World Cup in Russia next summer it’s thought that Rafinha wants more playing time so as to make the Brazilian national team who have already qualified for the tournament. If he can engineer a move away from Barcelona, he would hope to get more playing time and get himself in the shop window ready for the tournament next year.

He can also play as a full back so his versatility will come in handy, especially with our non-stop injuries, however, AC Milan, Liverpool, Juventus and Chelsea are rumoured to be ready to rival Arsenal for his signature and it is yet to be seen where the player would prefer a move to Italy or England.
