Brazilian defender Gabriel Paulista looks like he’s on the brink of a move to Spanish club Valencia according to reports from Spain.
As our late summer clearout creaks into action, the Brazilian looks to be on the move for a fee of around £10m.
The player has been a good backup option for Arsene Wenger, but its reported that he has been slow to learn English, and doesn’t play too often and wants more first team playing time. With the likes of Laurent Koscielny, Shkodran Mustafi and Rob Holding seemingly above him in the pecking order at the back, it comes as no surprise the player wants a move.
It also seems likely that Mathieu Debuchy could be on his way to Marseille according to France Football,. The right back has had a torrid time at Arsenal since his £10m move from Newcastle.
He was already an injury prone player, but hurt his shoulder against Stoke (of course) when he was innocently bundled into the advertising boards by Marko ‘not that type of player’ Arnautovic, and never really recovered and has been nothing more than a bit part player ever since. It’s still not confirmed whether or not Arnautovic’s Mum picked him up after that game.
Early Stoke team news – Sanchez to miss out?
A real shame on a good looking, sturdy player who never really made it at The Emirates. Debuchy made a very brief appearance last season, but all parties concerned will be thinking it’s time for the Frenchman to leave, good luck to them both, should their moves both come off.
