According to reports in the French media, Arsenal are showing a keen interest in signing Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri to bolster our ranks ahead of the upcoming season.
Seri played 34 games last season, and notched 7 goals and 9 assists which have seemingly caught the eye on Arsene Wenger.
Tottenham and Swansea are two other British clubs said to be interested and Roma have also enquired about the player but were apparently put off by his whopping £36m release clause.
L’Equipe claim that we could make a move for Seri after the French side play Ajax in a Champions League qualifier against Dutch side Ajax, something we don’t have to worry about this season.
Arsene Wenger will be aware that Seri has two years to run on his current contract, but won’t be put off of adding Seri to free transfer Sead Kolasinac and the big-money buy of Alexandre Lacazette as this season’s new signings.
With Jack Wilshere, Mohamed El Nenny and Santi Cazorla’s futures are all up in the air this close season, we will need some midfield signings to give us plenty of options if we are going to mount a serious title challenge.
