The players jetted off to Australia this weekend in The Emirates private jet ahead of our Sydney games this week.
There was a full list of players who are flying out on Arsenal.com, which included Mesut Ozil and new boys Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac. Alexis Sanchez hasn’t travelled as he’s only just back from the Confederations Cup, along with Shkodran Mustafi who also made the final with his winning German side.
Despite uncertainty about their futures, The Ox, Theo and Aaron Ramsey all travelled, along with Olivier Giroud who continues to be strongly linked with a switch to Goodison Park in the Daily Express.
Notable exceptions from the list, were Jenks, Debuchy, Szczesny and Lucas Perez, all of whom are expected to be sold this summer ahead of the new season – for the best odds on the new league season, make sure you check out matchedbettingsites.com.
As with any pre-season, there were a bunch of APYs (Arsene’s Promising Youngsters) also traveling with the squad, namely Krystian Bielik, Donyell Malen, Cohen Bramall, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Reiss Nelson, Eddie Nketiah and Joe Willock who also flew to the land of Vegemite, the UHT and Alf Stewart (ya flamin’ Galah!).
The games in Oz begin on Thursday where we play Sydney FC, and then Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday (15th), then the squad will then travel to China, where we will play Chelsea on the 22nd of July. Then we play Chelsea again in the Community Shield on the 5th of August just six days before we get our League season underway with a home game against Leicester on the 11th of August, break from Arsenal this summer you say?
No chance! COYG!
