Well it looks like it’s going to be a busy week at Arsenal, with what looks like an imminent announcement of our record signing, in Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon.
It’s thought the striker will join TODAY on a five year deal, worth around £200,000 a week, and a fee of around £52m. After photos appeared of the Frenchman at our training ground yesterday, it’s thought he’s had/passed his medical, and we’re now just waiting on official confirmation according to the Express.
The other, stronger wheatier rumours in amongst the rumour chaff, are that Thomas Lemar from Monaco, and/or Riyad Mahrez are also being looked at, we were previously linked with Kylian Mbappé, but this particular transfer frenzy seems to have died down during recent days.
Another signing this week is that of the number one invincible; Jens Lehmann who has confirmed he is joining Arsenal as first team coach and not as goalkeeping coach as first thought.
David Ornstein has been busy tweeting about Arsenal all week, and his latest tweet says our squad is now too large, and although there are targets specified, no one else will come in until a few players leave.
Lacazette medical done just paperwork to finish. Arsenal have more targets but any deals now likely to depend on Sanchez/Ozil/Ox/others #AFC

There’s still no word on Alexis Sanchez or Mesut Ozil, both of whom are running down their contracts, but there could be news this week as Sanchez has now finished at the Confederations Cup. He saw his Chile side beaten in the final 1-0 by Shkodran Mustafi’s Germany.
Ozil, was rested for the tournament, which can only be good for us, the German Instagramming that his ‘batteries are fully recharged’ and he’s ready to go. Definitely not the social media language of someone who is looking to leave any time soon, you’d think.
Holiday is over and I’m back at @Arsenal training ground with fully charged batteries ?⚽✨ #YaGunnersYa #training #London pic.twitter.com/niNeYjeiN9
