The FA today confirmed the date and details regarding this season’s Community Shield which will take place at Wembley Stadium on the 6th of August.

We, as the FA Cup winners will play league champions Chelsea after we lifted the cup last month, denying Spurs a chance to end their silverware drought in the process. Had we lost to Chelsea, the protocol states, the team who put the most pressure on the league champions would play the aforementioned Chelsea in the competition, but sadly for Spurs, we didn’t lose to Chelsea, we beat them. You may also remember Spurs toothless performance in the semi-final against Chelsea, where they were battered 4-2, despite officially ‘being the better side’.

Anyway, the chance to win the first silverware of the new season will kick off at 2pm, and the two sides will receive around 28,000 tickets for the game. Arsenal will be at the East End of the stadium, while Chelsea will occupy the West, the same as the FA Cup Final, which we won 2-1, not sure if I mentioned that and the game will be live on BT Sport.
