Despite rumours of a huge bid from Arsenal, which was meant to be increased, it looks like Kylian Mbappé could be set to stay at Monaco for another season according to the Daily Express. They claim that he is set to stay at Monaco, with the player and his parents to sit down with the club after the next round of international games.

The 18 year old is currently being chased by a host of Champions League clubs… and us… along with Man City, United, PSG, Barcelona and Chelsea, but it looks like Monaco are reluctant to let the player go for what will surely command a world record transfer fee, should he go.

He helped Monaco to a league title, with 15 goals and 8 assists, and these impressive stats have put Europe’s elite clubs on red alert, however the Frenchman is still under contract for two more years, and Monaco’s owner is in no hurry to cash in:

“We don’t force things. Is he worth that sum (€100 million), I don’t know? It’s the market that will give the answer to that question. After that, it’s the player who’ll decide. In any case, we want Kylian to stay…”

Rumours of an Arsenal move were fuelled this week when Arsene Wenger and Ivan Gazidis were pictured in Nice, a stone’s throw away from Monaco, but it sounds unlikely the offer of the Europa League will be enough to sway Mbappé into a move to The Emirates, not with the richer clubs sniffing about and Monaco seemingly and understandably not wanting to let him leave.

We have already been busy in the market, it was announced yesterday that we had signed Sead Kolasinac from Schalke on a free transfer. This came hot on the heels of the news that we have also let a player go this week, and what a player…
