Lucas Perez wants to leave the club according to his agent, citing lack of first team opportunities as the reason for the Spanish striker wanting to move after just one season at The Emirates.

Perez has been no more than a bit part player this season for the club, starting only twice despite impressing every time he was given a chance. He was named on the bench for last weekend’s FA Cup win over Chelsea but didn’t come on.

His agent is stirring things up, and said on Sky Sports:

“The idea is to be able to play for another club, we want to leave and Arsenal already know. Do you know anyone who is happy but has no opportunities?”

Perez wasn’t a cheap signing at £17m, and it will be a real shame to let him go, but players like this need to play. This season he has struggled to break into the first team despite contributing with assists and playing well when he came on, I for one will be sad to see him go, I think he is a valuable player and always creates chances and looks lethal in front of goal, it’s hard to see why he’s not used more often.
