Mesut Ozil has announced that he is happy in London, and will, like Alexis Sanchez, decide on his future at the end of the season. Ozil, like Alexis, also has one year left on his current deal, and there are all sorts of rumours flying around about offers, rebuffs and moves away, but it looks like Ozil himself will decide in the summer where he’s going, of if indeed he stays at The Emirates, and signs an extension.
Rumours also in The Express that he’s having his driveway done ‘Is this a sign that he’s staying?’ – who knows, could be a sign he’s getting his house ready to sell as well. Sigh.
Anyway, he told Sky Sports:
“As I’ve said before, in the summer we will talk but right now Arsenal stands in front of any player and I respect that. As I’ve always said in the past, I feel comfortable here. I’m happy. Arsenal belong as one of the best clubs in the world and London is a great place to be, a great city to live in…”
Ozil has been disappointing, by his own standards in recent games after a bright start to the season, so let’s hope things improve on that front, starting with an amazing performance tonight away at Southampton.
