With rumours linking Alexis Sanchez with a move away from The Emirates, manager Arsene Wenger looks to already be searching for a top class striker to replace the Chilean International.
Arsenal have long been linked with many strikers across the media, and it looks like once again Madrid’s mercurial James Rodriguez could be Arsene Wenger’s number one target this summer.
Reports from The Daily Star claim the Colombian international is wanted by Arsenal if Sanchez finally engineers a move away from the Emirates. Sanchez will have just 12 months left of his contract with Arsenal this summer and is said to aiming to sit down and discuss his future at the end of the season. Arsene Wenger has already confirmed that he will not be sold though, so if he fails to agree a deal, who knows what might happen. Mesut Ozil is also in the same boat, seemingly running his current deal down, with no firm decision on his future.
The news outlet further claims the likes of Juventus, Manchester United and Paris St-Germain are all also showing a keen interest in landing James, so Wenger will have to move fast if he want to sign the ace ahead of his aforementioned Euro-rivals.
With the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Bayern Munich also thought to be showing an interest in landing Rodriguez, Arsene Wenger will have to act decisively if he South American striker is to join Arsenal, and Madrid could be tempted to part with the player for a bid upwards of £50m, making it the highest transfer fee ever spent at The Emirates.
