It’s been revealed that some huge European clubs were all showing an interest in Arsenal legend Robert Pires before he finally agreed a move to Arsenal.

Pires’ performances with Marseille were brilliant and earned a big move away from the French side, which triggered the interest of many clubs, but Pires chose Arsenal and the rest is history.

Vicente del Bosque who was Real Madrid’s manager then was number one option for Pires, Juventus were also showing a great interest in landing him too while Arsene Wenger was a huge fan and after he had a personal conversation with Pires, the deal was done and Pires agreed a move to join Arsenal.

“I had Arsenal, I had Real Madrid, I had Juventus. Pires told Sky Sports via Daily Star:

“It was great news when I heard Juventus, Real Madrid and Arsenal wanted me but you need to make a decision. For me, it was very important to sign for Arsenal because I talked to Arsene Wenger before, that was the key factor.”
