Arsenal have still managed to maintain a decent strikeforce this term despite manager Arsene Wenger failing to secure the signing of a big name striker, and now Wenger wants to keep hold of his star player, and he thinks Alexis Sanchez will remain an Arsenal player next season.

With only a year left on his contract with Arsenal, the former Barca ace has been strongly linked with a move away from the Emirates, and despite confirming nothing has been finalised, Wenger is still confident that the Chilean international will remain an Arsenal player next season, saying:

“The problem as well that you have to analyse, always, firstly, is: can you find better and for what kind of money? The inflation is so big that sometimes today even mathematically there can be advantages to keep a player until the end of a contract, but I personally think he will sign and stay here. First of all he is happy here. His desire is as well to stay. That is what I deeply believe. The disagreements are more purely contractual. Not on the desire. Both parties have the desire to find an agreement, so I think it will happen…”

Despite a poor season for Arsenal, Sanchez’s performances have been nothing short brilliant this season with 19 goals in 31 league appearances.

The 28-year-old attacker joined Arsenal from Barcelona in the summer of the 2014-15 season, after winning the title and has helped Arsenal to one FA Cup since his arrival and I think it’s fair to say most Arsenal fans would be sad to see him leave.
