With just a few games left of a disastrous season, most Gooners are looking forward to it ending, and there’s already talk of new players being bought in (as is normal around Season Ticket renewal time) according to the German media.
Our recent hefty defeat in the Champions League to Bayern Munich, and more disappointment in the Premier League has apparently forced Arsene Wenger to take some swift action to try and bring in some new faces ahead of next season.
Wenger has now joined the race to sign RB Leipzig star Naby Keita, yet another defensive midfielder, according to German outlet Bild.
It’s thought that Wenger is looking to upgrade Francis Coquelin who has been very poor this season, and Keita would give more depth in the DM position, alongside Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny.
The 22-year-old midfielder’s dazzling footwork means he’s being compared to Chelsea’s N’golo Kante, a player in superb form, and is closing in on his second Premier League medal, with Chelsea seemingly running away with the league at the moment.
Bild further claims that Arsenal have reportedly expressed an interest in signing the ace in summer for a deal thought to be worth around £26m.
