Whether Wenger stays or goes this summer, there are still rumours about who he could land in the upcoming summer transfer window should the Frenchman stay at The Emirates.
A report in The Sun claims that he is looking to bring Everton ace Idrissa Gueye to the Emirates when the summer transfer window opens.
The Senegalese international’s performances have been nothing short brilliant for Everton since he joined from Aston Villa. The news outlet further report that Gueye’s dazzling foot work and brilliant performances in the defensive midfield role have led to comparison’s to flavour of the month; Chelsea midfielder N’golo Kante.
He has contributed a goal and two assists under Ronald Koeman this season for Everton, and his contract will expire at in 2020 and source confirms the 27 year old is thought to be valued at around €15.3million.
Arsenal have more than two players in the same role but the likes of Coquelin and Elneny have so far failed to impress this season, so perhaps Wenger is looking at new options to fill the void (when Xhaka gets sent off every other week).
