Arsenal 2-0 Sp*rs…
The U23s won out over our arch-neighbours with a 2-0 win on Friday, with the comeback kid Yaya Sanogo opening the scoring in the first half. Sanogo has been missing for months with a mystery injury/illness, but has now been mysteriously slotted back into our Champions League squad ahead of our imminent exit at the hands of Bayern Munich (again) next week.
Reiss Nelson got the second goal in the second half, as we ran out 2-0 winners in the clash, full story and video of the goals here…
Cazorla Confirmed as OUT for the season…
Our talismanic midfielder is definitely OUT for the season according to Arsene Wenger. Cazorla has now had two operations on his ankle, and even though his comeback was originally planned for March, he is now concentrating on next season. Check out Ladbrokes Poker‘s new app here.
Arsene Wenger said:
“It is very frustrating for us because, at the start of the season, he was maybe the star of the team, overall it is a big loss for us but I am especially sad for him. For a guy who loves football, when football is so natural, he suffers a lot not to be on the pitch. It’s a special problem on his calf…”
Protest Falls Flat…
14,000 Chile fans in Chile were expected to turn out for a protest to urge Alexis Sanchez to leave Arsenal. They were said to be unhappy that he seems to be carrying the team lately, and wanted him to leave Arsenal to a team where he’s more appreciated.
Well, in reality, 13,990 odd fans didn’t bother turning up, so the protest fell pretty flat. Alexis is said to be stalling on a new deal, holding out for £250,000 a week with Arsenal said to be offering £180,000 a week. Alexis should be fit to face Liverpool later today, with Mesut Ozil likely to miss the game through illness.
