A report in the media claims today that Arsenal are reportedly looking to sign an additional defensive midfielder in the summer.

We did seem to be looking fairly strong in the midfield with the fairly recent signatures of Mohamed Elneny and Granit Xhaka during the previous summer transfer window but Francis Coquelin’s Arsenal career looks to be coming to an end and with long term injury to Santi Cazorla, we need to look at reinforcements for next season’s campaign.

We have continued to struggle in the defensive midfield position with Xhaka’s temperament in question, and Elneny missing a large chunk of the season away at the African Nations Cup, and now currently sidelined with an injury.

Now according to a report, PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot is on Wenger’s shopping list, the 21-year-old ace has been linked many times with a move to The Emirates, and an offer of around £20 million for Rabiot is likely to be accepted by PSG, which also sound like an amount Wenger will be willing to offer.

The French ace said:

“I am under contract until 2019 and I do not think I am in a rush. Honestly, I am not thinking about that. If there are offers from big clubs, that obviously demands that they are considered. Clubs like Real Madrid, they are truly great clubs but, truly, the most important thing is the present and I am concentrating on what I am doing right now, that is the best thing to do.”
