A report from The Daily Mirror claims that respected French football expert Julien Laurens has confirmed that Lyon attacker Alexandre Lacazette could be heading to England to join Arsenal during the summer transfer window.
Arsenal have been monitoring the striker recently, and it’s thought that bids from both Arsenal and West Ham were turned down by French side last season and as a result, a deal was never sealed.
Lacazette himself confirmed earlier this month that he now wants a move from Lyon this summer and wants to experience life in another country, with the Premiership his preferred destination.
Laurens also reckons the likes of Liverpool and two time top flight league title winners Tottenham are also showing a keen interested in signing Lacazette, with a bid of £50m thought to be enough to land the player.
“I think he [Lacazette] will go to England,” Laurens said as quoted by Mirror:
“Whether that is Liverpool, Arsenal or Tottenham – I don’t know. You will have to pay around £40m or £50m.”
With Alexis Sanchez’ current deal coming to an end, and speculation rife about his and Arsene Wenger’s future, Lacazette could be a ready made replacement if Arsenal should cash in on the Chilean striker.
