Poor Santi Cazooooorla… Poor Santi Cazooooorla etc. Santi was originally expected back in March following his ankle operation, but reports now claim the midfield maestro is now targeting a return for next season after yet another setback, and yet another operation.

Cazorla injured his ankle in the last minute of our now pointless 6-0 win over Ludogorets, had an operation in Sweden in December, and was back training in January.

We’ll let the Spanish midget take over the story, over to you Santi…

“Thanks ArsenalShorts, so everything was going well until I started to do some exercises on the bicycle and the stitches gave in. I had to have a minor operation to close the scar on Thursday afternoon. I had a graft done a month-and-a-half ago because the skin on my ankle was practically dead and that was the reason why the wound would not close when I first had my operation in Sweden. We hope this is the last one and I can return as soon as possible…”

Santi has recently signed an extension to his contract, despite being sidelined, but can’t wait to get back on the pitch in the red and white of Arsenal:

“I still have one year left on my contract and my only desire is to return to playing and to compete at the highest level…”
